The Esby Oracle: A Personalized, Interactive Oracle Card Experience

☀︎🐾☾ The kettle is warm. Esby is home.

What Is the Esby Oracle?

Esby (pronounced ess-bee, short for Soul-Based) is a fictional character I created, part oracle, part storybook crone, rooted in a peculiar, poetic world of her own. She appeared in my writing when the world felt overwhelming. And she made me laugh! Her voice helped me reconnect with imagination, intuition, and the kind of quiet clarity that comes through metaphor, storytelling, and just the right amount of quirky delight.

The Esby Oracle is not a deck of cards. It’s a personalized, interactive oracle experience. You bring a feeling, a question, or an intent, and Esby responds by drawing a custom oracle card just for you.

She’ll set the scene, share the name of the card, describe what it looks like, and offer an insight to sit with. Each card is original, drawn from the character, logic, and mythic structure of the world I designed. It’s imaginative, intuitive, and created for reflection, not prediction.

Why I Made This

I’ve always been drawn to the intersections of creativity, culture, and technology, shaped by a background in Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy, and a career in tech and digital strategy.

But my interest in technology started earlier. As a neurodivergent person, I struggled to process and express words the way the world demanded. A disability grant gave me my first computer, a word processor that changed everything. It helped me communicate. It opened a future I hadn’t thought possible.

I approach new technology with care and a sense of curiosity. I am interested in the impacts it has on culture and behaviour, the ethical considerations we must have, the beauty and the power, the potential and the chaos.

We need to remain vigilant to the changes of our time. I am but one human in the chaos of this era, with the rest of you. My approach to it all comes from my experiences.

The Esby Oracle was created. It began as a creative, personal exploration of what’s possible, fun and helpful for me. And now, perhaps, it can be beneficial to you too.

Curious? Stay Connected.

If you liked Esby, or felt something spark here, I send occasional emails with more of the same — creative tools, thoughtful experiments, and slow, soulful questions for strange times. No noise. Just the good stuff.

You’ll also be the first to hear when I release other Esby tools, oracle-related offerings, or creative tech experiments.
