About
Hi, I’m Val.
I’ve worked in digital media for over 25 years, from the early web days through today’s AI-driven landscape. My background blends front-end development, UX design, digital strategy, and project management.
I started as a web developer when e-commerce was just beginning to take shape. Over time, I’ve led cross-functional teams, guided digital transformations, and built content ecosystems that attract organic traffic and deliver measurable results.
My focus has always been the same: reduce noise, align systems, and build experiences that feel intuitive, human, and effective.

An entrepreneur, employee & partner
I've had several successful small businesses and enjoy working with clients on projects that keep me creative and using my skills. It is now more common for employees to work on something entrepreneurial. I am not alone. My entrepreneurial skills make me a better employee, and my experience as an employee also makes me a better entrepreneur; it's a win-win.
Entrepreneurial Work
Throughout my career, I’ve balanced corporate roles with hands-on entrepreneurial work, building small businesses, creative projects, and client-focused services.
I co-founded a small e-learning partnership in the early 2000s, and long before that, I was running one of my first online product ventures in the late ’90s. Later, I spent several years as a business and technology coach, helping new entrepreneurs simplify their systems and find clarity in how they worked.
These experiences taught me as much as, if not more than, my corporate career.
They shaped how I think about innovation, sustainability, and the human side of digital work. They also gave me a deep appreciation for the realities on both sides of the table: client, customer, and business.
That entrepreneurial mindset still drives my approach today, creative, practical, and always focused on simplicity that works.
Philosophy
As digital tools become faster and more automated, the value of context, creativity, and human insight grows. Experience still matters, the kind that can see patterns, sense nuance, and choose what truly serves a user.
That’s what I bring to every project: strategic clarity grounded in human understanding.
Creative Practice
I’m also a mixed-media artist, working with analog and digital mediums, acrylic, oil, pencil, pastel, and wax. My art explores pattern, rhythm, and emotion, the same qualities that inform my digital work. I exhibit locally and continue to evolve my creative voice alongside my professional one.
